I am taking an important opinion poll among 78 collectors and I would
appreciate it if ALL of you will answer these two simple questions.

 1) Do you have a copy of a recording of "Yes, We Have No Bananas" in
your collection? YES ____ No_____ and

2) If someone were to come up to you and ask if you would place this
copy of "Yes, We Have No Bananas" amid your collection, would you glower
(frown) at them as if they had announced that they will slowly disfigure
your face with a fork? Yes____ No ____

I know this sounds stupid but this IS a serious opinion poll. Thank you.

I do actually...several and nobody has mentioned the best verstion: Victor
19068 with the Great White Way Orchestra under the completely underrated
Hugo Frey...who obviously did the arrangement. I love all of his stuff.
It's a complete send up of the silly thing and extremely clever to
boot...making allusions to the Hallelujah Chorus and so forth. I've played
it to several professional musician buddies of mine all of whom say..." Who
did that?? God. that's clever! "
So yes, I'd take another copy.
And I'd like more info on Frey if anyone has it. Wiki has a very short
article .
