[78-L] Warning..offensive article, mainly because it's absolute

The idea of considering any one set of lyrics as definitive for that
particular tune is the problem I have with the article. I heard of Harry C.
Browne's version long after I learned the lyrics I grew up with:

"Oh we had a little chicken
And she wouldn't lay an egg,
So we poured hot water up and down her leg
And the little chickie hollered
And the little chickie begged
And the little chickie laid a hard boiled egg."

And that's what I've always associated with that tune. In any event, our
neighborhood ice cream truck plays "This Old Man."
