Interesting list and your research is appreciated.
The non-rockers out numbered the rock tunes by one - which may be just
a subjective decision on your part trying to make some sense of the
whole scene. Not an easy task, to decide what was and what wasn't
rock. I recall leafing through one of Whitburn's books covering that
period and was struck by how many tunes were non-rockers well into the
1960s, and se of the earlier replies to this query noted that as
well. Al Hirt was on the charts in the middle Sixties.
