A reading from a book about Louis Armstrong. To illustrate an example of
Louis playing a short solo on a Henderson side, they play an excerpt
that only has a Charlie Green trombone solo! Go to 8.25. I remember
years ago someone played a Miles Davis record for an example of John
Coltrane, but chose one where both he and Hank Mobley played, and they
only played the Mobley solo... Then there was Charles Edward Smith who
played a Basie record for an example of Lester Young's style, but chose
one with a Buddy Tate solo. When the error was pointed out to him, his
response was "For the purpose of this exercise it IS Lester Young."
