I recorded the 8 sides and there isn't much dialog until reel 7.  Seems 'Billy' was a jockey and somehow injured himself and
shouldn't have ridden in the big race, but he did anyway.  His ex-friend Morley had his chippy wife take $3000 from the company
safe to bet on Billy's nag.  Not sure if she actually did make the bet, but Billy won and also was terribly injured with a cracked
skull in a fall from the horse after the race.  Is he going to live???

In the meantime, Morley gets busted for stealing the $3000 from the company safe.  Next scene is 6 months later.  The chippy
wife is canoodling with her new boyfriend.  Morley gets out of jail and Billy is OK and there to meet him, once again BFF.  Billy
takes Morley home and they catch chippy with her boyfriend.  Apparently, she has been living the high life these last 6 months
with the money from the safe and possibly the winnings from the horse race.  Chippy's boyfriend skidaddles and she gets
booted out of the house and the 2 BFF walk happily into the sunset looking for some new girlfriends.

Reels 1 thru 6 have only music, sound effects like doors closing, trains, horses galloping, crowd noise, with a few guttural utterances.

The song Pals Forever is sung by a noticeably inebriated quartet in the 3rd reel.

Not quite the same as movies nowadays, but probably worth a nickel in 1929.
