Interesting note there about Ann de Nys, singer/ pianist, songwriter, former
member of cabaret group
"That Certain Trio" (featuring singer/ actor Patrick Waddington and fellow
pianist William Walker).
There are HMV records and Pathe films of 'That Certain Trio' from 1931 but
the female singer/pianist/violinist is Peggy Cochrane.

musical director at Bolton's Theatre in Kensington.
She was also mother of actress Virginia McKenna.

Here's an announcement in the Radio Times TV Suplement of her appearance 
on BBC TV February 26 1937 (page 8).
