OK nostalgiacs, I just finished listening to a June 25, 1938 Glenn Miller broadcast and for the last tune the announcer sez: "and now, the Glenn Miller orchestra...it's own original theme which has no name is played for you as a number..."

Then at the close the announcer says "There, ladies and gentlemen you have the privilege of naming the theme melody for Glenn Miller and his orchestra."

What the HEY!? There's nothing about this in Flower's book or Simon's big bands. So who named the thing, Schnickelfritz Fisher?
