a quick scan of the internet:

Nofrio Record. Giglio Italian Records. ca. early 1920s. Nofrio was a character of Italian(Sicilian) American comedian Giovanni De Rosalia. He recorded for Columbia, Victor and Okeh but for a brief period he recorded for his own Nofrio label in conjunction with his friend, Clemente Giglio. Both of these label images are from the same record

Here is one of the great Italian American comedic artists of the early 20th Century, Giovanni De Rosalia (1864-1934), along with Gilda Torres performing a comedy routine called Nofrio e la Romana on a seldom seen "Nofrio Record" from the early 1920's produced by Giglio's Italian Reocrds. De Rosalia created the character of Nofrio (as depicted on this record label), and Nofrio was to become the "darling of the Public", and so popular and successful among audiences that De Rosalia made over two hundred records for Victor, Columbia and Okeh, and even had for a very short time in the early 1920's his own "Nofrio" record label produced by Giglio.

---

there are also self-produced records and labels owned by the performers themselves, such as the Nofrio Record, founded by C. Giglio in New York (see figure 3) after the success of the character of comic sketch by A. Bucci and Giovanni De Rosalia

I have a collection of Nofrio records and have had compiled 20 titles on CD

It is probably an "orphan" label.

Images of the label can be seen on the net.

Thomas.

I would like to use the Nofrio label image from “Nofrio Got No Bananas,”
Nofrio Record 1250Ain the book I am writing. Does anybody know which record company, if any, bought the Nofrio label? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
