Redskin Rhumba could be considered a follow-up to Cherokee, since you can link
the two Barnet recordings seamlessly. Barnet needed the Rhumba as a new theme
during the ASCAP ban.

Country and Western are RIFE I tell you with follow-ups and sequels. Lots of
them are "Answer to.." or pairings like "King of the Road"/"Queen of the House".

Harry Chapin wrote a follow-up to Taxi but didn't reveal any secrets (and
that's well out of the 78 era). Martin Mull wrote (and Jane Morgan) recorded "A
Girl Named Johnny Cash" (response to you-know-what).

Gay Caballero/Return of the Gay Caballero (Crumit)

Abdul Abulbul Amir/Minnie Skavinsky Skavar/Grandson of Abdul Abulbul Amir (also)

Steve Allen and Jayne Meadows recorded "What is a Wife"/"What is a Husband"
(both in the wake of the nauseating "What is a Boy"/"What is a Girl") and then
Steverino parodied the whole genre in "What is a Freem".
