I heard one Paul Whiteman album on the internet that sounded like rock and roll.I had read where Bobby Rydell had worked for him as a drummer.I knew that it was Whiteman who had changed his name from Ridarelli to "Rydell" by 1960.Years ago,I had a Cameo 45 of his called "The Fish".It was in the early '60s.

The Flanagan album is listed in the New Release section of the October 1959 Schwann. The Whiteman debuted in the same section in December 1959.

New acquisitions:

They're Playing Our Song - Ralph Flanagan and his orchestra
Imperial LP - 12006 - no date

Paul Whiteman - The Night I Played 666 Fifth Avenue
Grand Award G.A. 33-409

Question 1: When were these records made?

Q. 2: Is Whiteman actually involved in the music making? I see an image
and references to his name but nowhere does it say that he is actually
performing.
