[78-L] ^CD recycling

I need to dispose of several hundred used (defective) CDs and from what I see on our town recycling webpage they are not a readily recyclable plastic.  The only place I could find that indicated they would/could recycle themm wanted us to pay them for the service -after we pay to ship them.  That ain't in the budget, so I guess it's off to the landfill.  Anybody have a Different experience?
