An even more impressive pic is one in the Historical Society exhibit of a
trip a few years later to Washington, DC.  It shows the band on the White
House lawn with Pres. Coolidge.

Here's the postcard of the band Ron mentioned earlier - impressively sized
group.  It had been founded just the year before, in 1923.  PC

Lionel Hampton made his first records in 1924 and died in 2002, making it 78
years, appropriately!
