According to a compact disc issue, Red Nichols' "A Slight Case of Ivory" was a transcription recording, made for Lang-Worth on October 26, 1949.

>On what label did Red Nichols record "A Slight Case of Ivory"?I just remember him for the work he did for Capitol in the '40s and the comeback album he did in the mid '50s with Joe Rushton on bass sax.I have Walter Gross listed on an old Alamac LP as part of a Bunny Berigan studio session from 1936.

A piano instructor I know is interested in finding sheet music for the four songs Gross recorded - a look at the Gross archives at the University of Wyoming doesn't show any written transcriptions of anything other than full orchestra scores for his hits ("Tenderly," etc.). Does anyone know if these songs have been transcribed or if they were ever written down?
