I've got several of his albums in my collections plus a couple of those he did for United Artists in the sixties. It was, indeed,a raucus band.I remember it for the raucus tenor saxophonist.I remembered hearing Marterie years ago but it wasn't until 1969 when my band director at North Bend High School in North Bend,Oregon turned me on to him.He had some 45s of him.I can google the info if you'd like.I would be interested myself in that I'm an amateur jazz discographer and an ex jazz trumpeter/saxophonist.I remember the band as being billed as "Ralph Marterie and His Marlboro Men".

Some may call it the squariest of square interest areas, but my interest in Ralph Marterie began long ago with "Crazy Man Crazy" and his unsung
(and unlikely) role as a rock n roll pioneer. However it has stepped up a bit lately as my friend the singer Bill Walters toured with Marterie and sang
on several of Marterie's Mercury singles. So I've been picking them up -- they are quite common both as 78s and 45s. And I must say I am enjoying
some of these instrumentals he recorded.

Does anyone know who the guitarist might be on "Bongo Guitar" (Mer 70482/70482x45)?
