It's been over 7 years so I can't remember why I wanted to change the order. It
might have been to correspond with the original running order, but I think less
than half the poems are on the 2 discs. Probably something to do with the
pacing, and my old radio programming habits. Following the original order of
the matrix numbers must have been unsatisfactory, and those out-of-sequence
numbers were confusing even though we're assured that the sides were recorded
on the same day (in the Chenil Galleries, London). I was also assured by an
authoritative source that Walton conducted the orchestra.
