Kind of similar to the hatchet job Columbia did on the Anna Russell double album in the 1970s. The 'Sings Again' side is, well, okay, but the Anna Russell Sings entry? Ludicrously bad. I could have remastered it better myself... oh wait... I did. From a more vintage copy of the LP. Stuff is too funny to be treated so poorly :/

Columbia did some pretty horrible live recordings in the 50s. Anna Russell in 
Darkest Africa was full of whistle which they managed to clean up for the CD. 
They probably spliced the least worst parts of various takes together.
