That was a deal one of the newspapers put together as a memorial to
Spike. First ten and then the second ten. If you look on Amazon U.K.
there are some great prices, but shipping outside U.K. eats up the
savings. I did some calculations on a volume by volume basis and
ordered some to be shipped to the U.S. when cheaper and some to a friend
in London when cheaper, and I picked them up last month. Expensive NEW
stuff directly from Amazon can be cheaper to the U.S. because the VAT is
subtracted!!! My problem now is that I can't get French Amazon to ship
to the U.S. for some reason. I have two things I want from them. I
used to get things from them.
As for the original question about the compedia boxes, the woeful HMV
Oxford Street had one of them at full list it seems. They are 7 discs,
I think, so they won't be cheep except by luck -- and then some of the
U.K. dealer don't ship internationally. Since I have all 30 of the
original sets plus the extra set from Series Four, I feel pretty foul at
the new boxes. Loyalty be damned.
