[78-L] Charlie Poole reissue

I've got the Gennett and Paramount country box sets from JSP. I believe the
Gennett box boasts TRANSFERS from Chris King. I hope the transfers were all
he did cause the set has some pretty excessive use of noise reduction on
several cuts and I wouldn't want to be credited with it if I were him.

The Paramount box has several cuts that sound as if they were recorded at
the end of a four foot sewer pipe. The rose in all this is that the sets
were very affordable.

Some of the records came from Chris King. Others from Kinney Rorrer (who
wrote the 4 page liner notes for the CD), David Freeman and John Coffee I
didn't notice a lot of flutter but I'll check out my CD again. Steve

my turntable, but I checked it against the other tracks, and this is the
only one that has a problem. Can't believe Tompkins' quality control would
miss this. They're usually a pretty good label.
