Relayed in by Ron Fial, $1.00 per 78, hundreds of 78s

Hello,

I hope this is appropriate for this list; my apologies in advance if it is not! I wanted to let you know about the Discover Music Sale hosted by University of Oregon Libraries in Eugene, OR next week; there is a description below and I've attached a flyer in pdf format (not sure if attachments will come through or not.) We have a very large selection of 78s for sale (with particular emphasis on jazz), as well as many LPs and some books and sheet music. Everything is sold as-is; unfortunately, I cannot provide an inventory of the 78s or assessment of their condition. I hope that some of you in the Pacific Northwest will consider coming to the sale, and please feel free to share this announcement with any interested colleagues in Oregon, northern California, or Washington.

Discover Music Sale and Music Services Intro Set for April 3-4
On Wednesday, April 3, and Thursday, April 4, from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., the UO Libraries will host a Discover Music Sale and Music Services Intro in Knight Library's Browsing Room, 1501 Kincaid Street, on the UO campus.

The sale will feature thousands of vintage 78 rpm records, hundreds of vinyl albums, scores, sheet music, and books. Items for sale include music by artists such as Gershwin, Debussy, and Nelson Eddy. The sale will span a variety of music genres and time periods.

At the event, library staff members will also be on hand to introduce music lovers to the wealth of the music services and music resources the library offers to UO students, faculty, staff, and the general public.

Most items in the sale will be priced at $1.00; boxes of LPs and 78s will be $5.00. A few other items will be priced as marked. Proceeds from the sale will help fund new acquisitions for the UO Libraries.

A web version of this announcement may be found here: http://library.uoregon.edu/node/3412.

Please contact me if you have any questions! Thanks very much.

Sincerely,
Ann Shaffer
