While we're on this subject, I have a Plymouth lp of Best Loved Spirituals, artists identified only as "The Spiritual Singers" (or "Spiritualsingers" on the front cover). Standard gospel quartet style with guitar. I wonder what the source is for this one? Matrix numbers PL-66-1444 and PL-66-1453.Here are the tracks, in case anyone recognizes these as coming from Continental, Crown, some transcription label or whatever.PRECIOUS MEMORIES/MY DUNGEON SHOOK/JOSHUA/DOWN BY THE RIVERSIDE/THERE'LL BE A JUBILEE/EZEKIEL SAW THE WHEEL/I OPENED MY MOUTH TO THE LORD/SELAH GOSPEL TRAIN (hey, Thomas, could this be..?)/NOAH/STANDING ON THE HIGHWAY/SIT DOWN/I'LL BE LISTENING SOMEWHERE/WAKE NICODEMUS/ONE MOMENT OF GLORYI've just done a quick sample of each track and all sound like the Gates or similar, except for SIT DOWN and I'LL BE LISTENING SOMEWHERE which are a mixed gospel chorus, out of character with the rest of the album.dlOn 3/27/2013 6:19 PM, Thomas Stern wrote:> IIRC the discographies list Plymouths and Continental, but not the Remington, other than> a 10" Remington.> Wondered if the 12-inch Remington pressing was a special for Record Hunter store or ???, and perhaps very> limited circulation since it is not mentioned in any references I've seen....?>> I've not seen the Continental, wonder if it is a gf, and if it has any significant notes.
