One more recent very successful overdub was a program of Bach and Handel arias by Kathleen Ferrier. The original album was in mono, (as were all of Ferrier's recordings), but they brought back the same conductor, (Boult), and the same orchestra to the same hall and superimposed the now stereo orchestra on Ferrier's voice. db
