[78-L] Where were the dubbed Caruso records made?

"Revitalise Caruso's voice"!!!???  Who was the khokhem at HMV or Victor who got the
bright idea that [a] Caruso's voice needed any revitalising, or that [b] adding an electrical
acc. over the original acoustic would do so?  Seems to me, the dubbing would DEGRADE
his voice, if anything....

I have the Pearl set here (GEMM CDS 9030) and there were 36 masters in
all, 11 done in Camden and 25 in England.  All but three of these were
issued, most by BOTH Victor and HMV except for six that were on HMV
only.  There were more of these than most people imagined.
