The best guess with this would be the German aspirated "ch", which I
think no one has mentioned explicitly. Between the "sh" and the hard "k"
is a sound that resembles getting ready to spit. Most people probably
know this sound from "Bach" as pronounced - remember, an FM Classical
announcer is the only person in the world who can say "Bach" without
everyone else in the room looking for where he's going to spit.
