Rather confusingly, there was another postwar Ideal label from New York,
with issues in a 1000 series called "Serie Latino Americana".
Label is black, with (judging from scans) silver and/or white print.
I have seen no other series on this label.

As example, artists on the label are:
Lorenzo Herrera; Juan Pena; Julio Gutierrez.

>>> Yes, that's the label that Chris bought. I've seen 45's from the mid-sixties. San Benito is just a couple of miles from where I live, the building is now a bridal shop.

The postwar Mexican hat label has no address on most issues,
but a label image of 1497 (the last one available) says
San Benito, Texas, with the (1960) address as shown in ARLD.

>>> This 'third' IDEAL label, the Mexican one with the 'cowboy hat trademark' -
isn't that the one that Chris Strachwitz (of Arhoolie Records) bought,
archive, tapes, stampers, pressing machines and all? I think so.

PS-noticed I have a scan of a third IDEAL label
904-A 1044 Tragedia
JOSE GALLARDO
Los Cancioneros Del Bajio
Matilde y Miguel con sus Guitarras
red label, gold print
IDEAL is VERTICAL at left side of label, with a Mexican cowboy hat trademark.
