I have no doubt that this "Alladinite" has something to do with the 
company which applied its name. Alladinite is an early form of cellulose 
plastic produced from casein and rennin, which then is exposed to 
formaldehyde.

One can easily deduce how this might have found its way into the British 
record industry. Perhaps records made in this way either performed 
better or lasted longer with an application of graphite.
An interesting piece of historiana.
