Peter Sellers playing a Liberace-type one might almost believe - I think he could bring it
off.  But James Mason??????!!!!!!  He must have REALLY NEEDED the money!  And how did they work Mrs M into it?  Liberace never had a wife, did s/he - not in the full sense of the word anyway?

I've just been watching a dreary 1952 film entitled "Lady Possessed", 
produced by and starring James Mason and his wife. It takes place in an 
English never-never land, and does involve some 78s found in an 
outhouse, but the "ouch" factor is Mason playing a Liberace-type 
character (albeit with his singing voice dubbed by an unknown American).

Perhaps Mason was looking for a tax write-off?
