Pretty much as the story goes. According to the book "The Music Goes Round", authored by early recording engineer Fred Gaisberg, he also concentrated on talent-spotting and in persuading performers to come and make recordings on Berliner's new Gramophone in the 1890's, and in 1898 he went to England and worked for the Gramophone Co.and HMV..
