[78-L] Harold Arlen question

I had played the MCA CD and there was indeed a second, lower voice answering Herman twice.
Real overlap is not very clear, but at the end of the second fill-in you can also hear that
Herman starts immediately after Arlen.

My question is: what is the real question?
Did the Jazz J. reviewer think there was only one singer, or did he doubt the 2nd voice was Arlen?

Any idea if all Arlen vocals are listed in Jazz Records, or is he also on non-jazz dance items?
He is not in the entertainment dg (at least not in the 2nd ed.).

Arlen sings is "My mama done told me" (twice), but there's no mistaking the
different voice and mike pickup.

You know it and I know it and Simon knew it, but I gotta get something in print.
