The seller has responded to my email, thus:

"By all means return the record to the address on the label... and we will gladly pay the return postage along with
your refund. We had five of these 78's and they have been in storage for years. We don't clean unplayed 78's, as
everyone has their own methods of cleaning...."

Sounds good to me.

The record could actually be unplayed.  I have not played it to see if there is a problem, don't want to degrade the
record.  I have played several records that would otherwise be pristine except for this type of environmental
damage, and they all made noise across the faded part, even after cleaning.   As far as it being a re-issue, I was
aware of that, just wanted to get a pristine copy for my collection.

Thanks for comments!

Here are some pictures of the record I received: http://pdx78s.cdbpdx.com/PAR14022/ Compare that with the photos and description in the auction. It is the same silver label record, just a different one. 'Twould have been nice to have received an original gold label Paramount of this record, even in this condition. Still haven't heard from 2ndfiddlerecords. Keeping my fingers crossed! Also, there was $2.31 postage due at
delivery. CDB
