Yeah, saw it, heard it, deplored it: the BBC is one of the regular stops on
my morning Web tour, like the lamp-posts on an old dog's morning walk.

"Old-fashioned vinyl records." Errrmm. Does anyone out there actually know
Pallab Ghosh, "Science correspondent, BBC News", or Bill Lowry, "digital
collections manager at the Museum [who] was among those who helped restore
the cylinders"? I mean, is there anyone who can effect introductions, and
maybe undertake a few minutes of gentle remedial history, not for the public
but for the expert?

Pfffffffff.

Thanks for sharing that ! How wonderful hear an actual family recording from
Christmas in 1904. Young Leslie is singing "The Minstrel Boy", an old Irish
Patriotic Ballad written by Thomas Moore, also recorded by John McCormack.
