[78-L] Moran & Mack

I think there were several hillbilly routines like "Black Mountain Gang
At Their Still" that had multi-record numbered parts. There also was
the WLS Showboat on Gennett-recorded Silvertone that was parts 1-6. And
many minstrel show series had part numbers as high as the teens.
I once went through NINE HUNDRED COPIES of Two Black Crows Parts 1 & 2
and found NO ALTERNATE TAKES, although we know there are three or four
alternates of parts 3 & 4 including an unissued test pressing with no
piano. It was a large warehouse of a dealer outside Indianapolis that
had all those copies of 1&2. It is the place where I found dealers
stock of a Danish HMV of Borge Rosenbaum.
I find nothing particularly racially objectionable in 2 Black Crows.
They could even be called Two Orange Birds with much the same result.

Getting back to Joe's question of a comedy sketch extending over more
than two
sides, Julian Rose's Levinsky At The Wedding was in 4 parts and there's
at
least one remade side, post-Volstead.
