[78-L] side 2 same song

I have acquired Columbia A3568, Angel Child on both sides, played by the 
Columbians on one side and sung by Al Jolson on the other, with an 
uncredited orchestra.

Did this happen often, a record with the same tune on both sides but 
different performers?
