This Broadway was a Don Gabor cheap-o from the early 1950's. Several had old Majestic material presumably leased or swapped from Obie.

Subject: [78-L] Marilyn Horne on Broadway

I have a Marilyn Horne 78 on a label called Broadway, #204. No indication of where the label was based, and there are 3 Broadway labels listed in ARLD, all in New York. Marilyn was raised in California and recorded some sides there, which were issued under pseudonyms, but here is A GUY IS A GUY (composed by Oscar-Brand, correct, hyphenated) and clearly labelled Marilyn Horne, with Victor Corwin and his Orchestra. Matrix VH 125. The reverse is I'LL WALK ALONE, Louis Prima & His Orchestra, vocal by Lilyann Carol, mx R383. That's probably from Majestic, right? Is this an Obie item?dl_______________________________________________78-L mailing list78-L at klickitat.78online.comhttp://klickitat.78online.com/mailman/listinfo/78-l
