[78-L] Where to find 78 rpm ?

Your more than welcome however please be aware that the chance of 78's showing up at  record shows or Half Price Books is rather slim in my experience although I haven't tried to check out all the rest of the Half Price Books stores in the Houston area beyond the two I visit a few times per year. I also have never seen 78's for sale at the few remaining used record collector shops in Houston after Kurt Nauck closed his Montrose area store some 18 to 20 years ago after he got married then moved to Spring Texas. I know I was one of the local 78 rpm collectors that he called before the shop closed with a good deal to buy 78's from the shop. I cleaned out his classical 78 rpm sets & classical singles upstairs, bought one or two childrens 78's from upstairs then went through his 78's downstaires & bought what I wanted that day. Oh & I still have all of those classical 78's to this day. In fact I'm playing one of the sets right now changing sides every 4.5
 to 5 minutes as I'm typing this email.

There was another shop in one of the Antique Junction booths that was open & had quite a number of 78's plus windup phono's for sale but it was only open for a few years perhaps 7 or 8 years ago & then closed up shop. That was long after Kurt closed his Montrose area place & I don't remember the fellow who ran the booth.

Sadly there are no 78 rpm record collector shops in Houston to walk in & buy 78's from. Also I've never seen 78's at the flea market on Hwy 290 & Eldridge  however there is a double booth (2 shops right next to each other) run by a friend of mine at Coles Flea Market in Pearland who has 78's every once in awhile although 99% of her business is LP's & 45's. Haven't checked any of the other flea markets in this area for records of any speed. One or two of the antique shops in the Houston Heights has had a few 78's for sale but again the pickings were slim at both shops.

Online seems to be my best way to find 78's nowadays......
