Sad new that British Jazz Musician Eddie Harvey has died (Tuesday).  Eddie a trombonist, pianist and arranger was a founder member of George Webb's Dixielanders.   After service in the RAF he worked with Freddy Randall and Vic Lewis.   He became a founding member of the Johnny Dankworth Seven and later in his big band.   As a freelance he played with Don Rendell, Woody Herman, Maynard Ferguson and Ronnie Scott.    TV appearances and a period with Humphrey Lyttleton followed.  In his later years he began teaching jazz and wrote Teach Yourself Jazz Piano.   A great personality and a joy to be with.
