Speaking of slow-motion Scourby, his set of readings from "The Power of
Positive Thinking" closes tomorrow on eBzazz. 3 12" discs, 16 2/3 rpm.

This was to be played on a loaner machine from the Institute for the Blind. Both sides are identical except for the playback speed. There are several 2-5 minute excerpts from different books and articles narrated by different people. He said he started narrating talking books in 1937 and has been doing it for 30 years, so this one (I conclude) must be from 1967 or so. The side I recorded has about 1 1/4 inch of groove and provides almost 44 minutes of playback at 8 1/3 rpm.
