[78-L] Wood glue for cleaning 78s? Has anyone tried this?

This has me wondering:

1. Are early 10" lps from the 1940s/early 1950s made of vinyl or something else? They seem to be of heavier manufacture than later lps.

2. If a 78 has no shellac left, say a Charlie Patton Gennett, Paramount, or Vocalion in G condition, would wood glue then not hurt the record?

3. Do later 78s that seem to be made of vinyl not contain shellac?

I can see where the surface of acetates might want to peel off if a person applies wood glue./steve

It's not worth a damn for any disc recording!!

& the same can be said for polyvinyl acetate.
