[78-L] Off the subject (Dennis Flannigan)

One day in Junior High word started spreading that one of our kids got a
letter published in MAD and was getting HELL for it!!  It was true!!! 
He wrote complaining about the time Mr. Manno caught him reading MAD in
math class.  Manno was the meanest son-of-a-bitch who ever lived, and
the kid was damn lucky that New Jersey had outlawed corporal punishment.
 We ALL went out immediately and bought that issue.  It was around #50
and the cover has a light green background.

I remember in the Marvel comix there was a fellow Paul Gambacinni (sp?) 
who wrote some of the longest and most thoughtful letters (to me anyway)

and was published frequently, typically in the Fantastic Four IIRC. I've

often wondered what happened to him. Recently I discovered that he lives

in London and broadcasts classical music for the BBC! I emailed him 
once, never heard back
