ARSCers! I have just put up a photo album of over 200 of the earliest
photos of ARSC Conferences that are in the ARSCive! These are just
rough photos Leah and I took of them last year, and we hope that they
can be scanned properly, and that we might also use the original
negatives as well. Most of the photos were taken by one of our founding
members, Paul Jackson. He was using a half-frame 35mm camera for many
of these, so even the negatives will not be extremely sharp and detailed
-- half-frame 35mm is very small.

I have put them up in the photo album section of my Facebook page, but I
believe that everyone will be able to reach the album through this URL:

The earliest seem to be from 1967 in Bloomington, Ind., but I remembered
seeing even earlier photos from the original founding meeting at a "Rump
Session" of the 1965 Music Library Assoc Conf. when the ARSCive was at
Harold Heckendorn's. Even before I could ask, Paul Jackson has just
emailed us to tell us that he has the negatives of that meeting.

For those of you interested in the Dress Code, note how things were
getting a little less formal into the 1970s.

For those of you who were there at the first Toronto conference, the
last group of color photos will bring back fond memories of the most
memorable banquet we had in a Chinese restaurant!! I have not yet had
the courage to check out the videotape of that banquet!!

For non-ARSCers, there is a group of photos taken at the RCA Rockaway,
N.J. pressing plant in 1969.
