[78-L] to DVD or not to DVD?

I've had a video-DVD recorder since 2005 that uses DVD+R for 
recording. It won't record using DVD-R. However from the standpoint 
of playback it will playback either.

For use as an archival medium for mp3s, jpgs, etc for PCs, it really 
doesn't matter. Mac VS PC doesn't matter either.

The more important thing to watch is brand and manufacturers of the 
DVDs. The same brand can be made by many manufacturers and quality does vary.
