No, I have not tried it.  I have used Sound Forge but I do rather basic
things, such as cutting off "quiet" parts before music starts, or enlarging
the files and using the pencil to redraw a part of the curve to eliminate a
click.   It is mainly a time sucker.

Although I have not tried it myself, I believe Audacity will do the job.
DAK also sells software that is supposed to offer some editing.

anysoftware that is made for it.ive tried nero ,soundsoap,and roxio..i was
considering diamond cut but its way to complicated for this boys brain..

Note that it's not necessary to change the subject line if you ARE
responding to an existing thread, unless you're moving the topic elsewhere.
Things get confused and some people read the messages in digests (and,
horrors, reply by quoting the entire digest, although that hasn't happened
here for a while). 
I've also deleted the earlier part of the thread in the quotation below.
