Hey Mal - I don't have a single Maloof. I don't collect Arabic much (have a
few) and focus mainly on Greek & Cajun (and some Hawaiian!).

Hey, Malcolm -
Mal here!
How's your collection of Maloof 78s? Reason I ask is that more than a
few were recorded by Gennett c. 1921-24 but I have no way of knowing
which series were Gennett issues and which were not. I have a few in the
200 and 7000 series but the giveaway matrix numbers are not by Gennett
in either case.
Second problem is all the Syrian, Turkish, Egyptian titles in the Ge
ledgers are transliterated into English but appear on the labels in
Arabic lettering (never mind what language it is!).
And lastly, most of the mid-eastern material in the Ge ledgers have no
issue numbers or side letters attached to the rest of the info so
without obvious matrix numbers in the Maloof runouts I'm shooting in the
dark.
Can you fill in any detail here?
Mal
