probably not of great interest, except for the continuance of the name...and this CD:

"POETRY FOR THE BEAT GENERATION" - Jack Kerouac/Steve Allen (Produced by Bob Thiele, recorded prob. March 1958
intended for DOT Records release, but withdrawn by Randy Wood the president of Dot. Subsequently issued June 1959, HANOVER HML
5000.

Some copies of the DOT album were sent to reviewers etc.
Does anyone have the DOT release number? Were the Dot pressings used by Hanover, or were there only small run of review copies??

I noticed this CD it is on the EMI ZONOPHONE label.

from the website www.zonophone.net :
"Zonophone was a record label founded in 1899 in Camden, New Jersey by Frank Seaman. The Zonophone name was not that of the
company, but was applied to the records and machines sold by Seaman from 1899-1900 to 1903.
The name was subsequently acquired by Columbia Records and Victor Talking Machine Company.
In 2006, EMI relaunched the label with unearthed or rediscovered music from artists such as The Cramps, The Move, T. Rex, Joe
Cocker, Lee Hazlewood, Procol Harum, The Flying Lizards, Glen Campbell and many more."

Best wishes, Thomas.
