Just received the very sad news that Warren Luening,  one of the greatest 
trumpet players of all time,  has passed away.

He was a fixture in the LA studio scene for fifty years,  but got his first 
big break as a kid playing with Lawrence Welk.

Here are three nice  tracks of   Warren at age 17...a brilliant player on 
lead or solo.
