Dear Thomas,
Maybe it ought to be said: what you're witnessing right now is the 78 
List Initiation Rite (rite de passage), staged by our self-appointed 
Elders. Instead of answering the newbie's questions these gentlemen take 
turns arranging somewhat purgative situations in which the new member 
has to suffer mildly humiliating jokes about ones language, culture etc.
Other gangs may cut off one of your fingers or hold your head under 
water before they accept you as a new member - but it's basically the 
same phenomenon. If you manage to be patient and wait until the Elders 
have emptied their batteries of puns and silly jokes you will be 
accepted as a full member. In due time you will be ready to start making 
silly jokes yourself.
