[78-L] How do you successfully play a Durium recorrd?

Go to your local junk yard and get a roller bearing. These are used on older cars and they are heavy enough to hold down a durium.

... and that works great unless your spindle is easily removed, as mine is. To offset that problem, I center the disc, remove the spindle and put something very heavy,in the center, a 16 oz coke bottle was the last thing I used because it was handy and yet with a small "footprint."
I continue to marvel at how good some of the Duriums are when you find them in good shape. Some are just wonderful.

I use a large washer and a clamp on the spindle. No glop on the disc,
and I can remove it easily. this will not work with some compound
curves, but it's been pretty successful.
