Thousands of copies abound - I have three of 'em. A nice little disc in a
well-designed foldout sleeve.

Subject: [78-L] Rare record?

I recently acquired a record, (7 inch 33 1/3 rpm), called a "Victor Special
Record".  It contains "Bella Figlia del Amore" from Rigoletto sung as a
tenor solo by Caruso on one side and Melba singing "Songs My Mother Taught
Me" on the other.  It claims that the Caruso has never been released before
and has not appeared in any Caruso discography.  In fact both sides had
never been issued before.  It has the notice "Licensed for private use and
not assignable".  It was issued in 1973 as a Private Pressing for the
Benefit of The Stanford Archive of Recorded Sound.  I realize the world has
turned many times since 1973 and much more is now available.  Have I got a
rare treasure  worth millions or do thousands of copies of this disc abound.
