century, mark the first recorded work of maverick composer and teacher

three selections here, "Sonata for Violin and Piano" (1949), 
"Passacaglia for Piano" (1936), and "Quartet for Trumpet, Tenor 
Saxophone, Percussion and Piano," (1950/1954) were recorded
