I have a friend who had so little free space in the bedroom - records all
over the floor & bed - that he would clear a little body outline on the bed,
and sleep with the stacks all around him.....

I'm appalled. I would never even consider keeping my records in the 
garage, where the extremes of heat and cold, mainly heat (and humidity) 
in this part of the world, could cause so much damage.

Show some decency. Keep the records in your bedroom and sleep in the 
garage. If your wife and kids complain, get a divorce and keep the house.
