They are not necessarily outdated masters. Some might be current. Some
have labels glued over regular Columbia pressings, while most have
regular pressed-in Standard labels denoting current manufacture.
But just like Victor saying that 78 was the proper speed when they were
most often recorded around 76, most Columbias I listen to sound better
at 78 rather than at 80.
